Skiff Life Community group

Serving the Homeless

Skiff Life Community Group was formed approximately six years ago and chose a community project that involved providing bags of toiletries and personal care items to the Jackson Interfaith Shelter for homeless people who came to stay at the shelter. The group has continued this ministry since and now provides as many as fifty Care Bags per month to the shelter with the help and support of the overall congregation.

The group plans an annual Church Rummage Sale to help support the ministry financially. Proceeds from the rummage sale significantly contributed to the restoration of the women’s bathroom at the shelter this past year.

Members of the community group prepare and serve meals at the shelter two times each year and provide Christian outreach ministry including a musical and gospel presentation.

Any member or attendee of Skiff Lake Bible Church is welcome to participate in the Skiff Life Community Group’s activities. The group meets monthly to plan their outreach activities, assemble Care bags, enjoy fellowship together and pray for the needs of the church.
